MEET OUR WINNERS – Bojana Petković
Category: 15–18-year-old

Q1: Tell us a little about yourself. What are you up to at the moment?
My name is Bojana. I'm in the last year of the gymnasium and want to study architecture. I've been making many things since I was ten. I'm up to every handmade crafting. Of course, I love writing and reading; it`s fulfilling. I hope that I will share my book with others.
Q2: Tell us a little about who your creative inspiration or mentor is and why? This might be a favourite author or place to work.
When I write, I am inspired by the people I know and read or hear about.
Q3: Why do you write? Would you rather choose prose or poetry? Why?
I write prose, though I have written a few poems. Both are areas I will explore.
Q4: What are you writing next? Might this story be the first of a collection?
I'm currently writing two novels, and this short story was something that came to me unconnected to these.
Q5: What are your aspirations as a writer?
I want to learn through writing and improve my writing skills. That way, I can truly present a story that lies in my mind.
Q6: Does the place you live or are from inspire you in your work or life, and if so, how?
The place where I come from is sometimes an inspiration for some stuff I write, but people are a greater inspiration to me. I find the life stories and personalities of other people very thought-provoking.
Q7: What would you like the reader to take away from your story?
I would probably like readers to understand how it's amazing to work together with someone.
Q8: Did you learn anything about yourself by writing your story?
I don't know whether I learned something new about myself, although I am sure I confirmed how much I love to write.
Q9: What are your 3 top tips for writing a short story? This was my first time writing a short story; as I said, I have written novels, which wasn't so different for me. It was similar to writing one chapter from the whole book. The idea, persistence, and goodwill are what I think are essential.
